Mr. Paredes is a product of LFCISD having attended Villarreal Elementary, Los Fresnos Jr. High and graduated from Los Fresnos High School. After graduating high school, he went on to work for the Harlingen School District in the maintenance department and attended the University of Texas Brownsville by night. He soon earned a B.A. majoring in government and minoring in history with a teaching certificate and began his teaching career at Harlingen High School South teaching all levels of social studies. He remained teaching in Harlingen for 13 years during which time he earned a Masters of Public Policy and Management along with a principal certification.
Seeing the opportunity to return to his home in Los Fresnos in 2015, Mr. Paredes applied and was hired as Assistant Principal for Los Fresnos High School, his alma mater. The following six years he served as Assistant Principal for Los Fresnos United in charge of discipline, the emergency plan, LPAC, textbooks and oversaw the social studies department. In 2022 Mr. Paredes was selected to serve as principal of Liberty Memorial Middle School where he continues to serve.
Shara Gonzales serves the students at LMMS as Dean of Instruction for the 2024-2025 school year. Mrs. Gonzales has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2021. During her career in public education that began in 2007, Mrs. Gonzales has served as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Coach, and High School English teacher. Shara Gonzales received her Bachelor of English Literature degree from Texas A&M University in College Station and her Master of Educational Management from University of Houston at Clear Lake.
Mrs. Gonzales is a proud graduate of Los Fresnos High School, and enjoys raising her children in the same community in which she grew up.
